Technique Thursday - How to Make a Shaker Card

Here's a fun technique that helps you use up all of those edges of the Stampin' Dimensional sheets you've got lying around! It's probably been a couple of years since I've made a shaker card, so I thought I would revisit this technique with you this week.

To make the shaker portion of your card, you will need a piece of card stock that you've stamped on (in my case, applied a rub-on), a piece of card stock with some sort of window in it, and a piece of a window sheet. All of the pieces will be the same size, in this case 2-3/8 x 2-5/8". For the stamped/rub on part, make sure that the image is centered so that it will show through the window of the upper piece of card stock.

Next, on the back side of the upper card stock piece (Pink Pirouette with heart punched out), apply adhesive and adhere the window sheet as shown:

Once the window sheet is adhered, add strips of dimensionals to line the entire edge of the back of the heart punched piece like so:After removing backing of the dimensionals so that the sticky part is ready to go, add glitter or confetti to the center of the window sheet:

Next, flip over the stamped image and line it up over the glitter filled piece and adhere:

Add your newly glittered window to your card and enjoy! Here's what the card looks like once it's shaken:Want to give it a try? We'd love to see what you come up with! How cute would this technique be with a birthday cake and some confetti? I just might give that a try!
